Current HDR student conducting research at MQU. As the only Executive that has remained since COGS' inception, Patricia has fundamentally been responsible for the success COGS has achieved, from single-handedly planning and executing events pre-2025, to always volunteering as available personnel. We are indebted to her ongoing participation in the Society, and are grateful to access her guidance and experience.

About COGS Society

Based in Australia and co-founded in November 2022 by Connor-Ellem Sanders and Chantelle Alison, COGS always had a Vision in becoming an association representing the forefront of Neuro/Cognitive Science research and application. It follows that our Mission is to foster a transdisciplinary community that contributes meaningfully to our Vision.

Over the years we have cultivated this modest yet tightly-knit group of BCBS students, alumni, faculty staff and international academics/enthusiasts that make this community what it is - a think-tank of avant-garde intellectuals ready to drive the global future. Our transdisciplinary identity empowers this ability to drive worldwide change; we are forward-thinking on how Neuro/Cognitive Science intersects with other industries; We are confident that Artificial Intelligence will bridge COGS into a post-AI world of Brain-Machine Interfacing technologies, melding with cutting-edge discoveries in Healthcare to not only improve human cognition - but be at the forefront of clinical treatments into neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's etc.

We are ambitious and motivated for the good of humanity, but we also harbour a modus operandi of sustainable growth. COGS is currently cultivating this growth through taking small-steps to elevate positive mental health locally in Australia - our social media channels allow people to take small but positively impactful steps to mental wellbeing, based on consolidated medical evidence. Provided the brain is widely regarded as the most important organ in the body, the idea of 'healthy mind, healthy body' is a reality COGS is focused on enabling.

COGS is the future, but we are not without our people. Whether you are from Enterprise or a prospective Member, we invite you all to join this community.
